Smoothie 101 (Chai Smoothie)

I  have been finding some great smoothie recipes and if you read my blog you will know my deep love for Chai Tea !! Well, I have found  a great recipe that blends some of my other favs, too (ginger,papaya and honey) !! Check out this smoothie and enjoy !!!

Serves 2

Chai Smoothie

2 tbsp. raw honey

3/4 cup Warm strong brewed Chai tea

1 1/2 cups diced nectarines

3/4 cup diced fresh papaya,frozen

1/2 tsp peeled and chopped fresh ginger

2 to 4 ice cube

Dissolve the honey in the warm chai tea. Refrigerate until chilled. Combine the sweetened chai tea, nectarine,papaya, ginger and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth and ….ENJOY !!

Keeping with our Healthy 2014 here is our recipe of the Day !!

Enjoy !!

This recipe can be used as a side dish or for breakfast !! Healthy,Spicy and Sweet !!

Sweet Potato Hash

1/4 cup coconut oil

2 cups frozen or fresh chopped bell peppers and onions

2 pounds sweet potatoes (about 2 medium sweet potatoes) peeled and cut into small cubes

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp salt

1 tsp red pepper flakes

Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat

Saute bell peppers and onions until tender, about 5 minutes

Add remaining ingredients and reduce heat to medium

Cook for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring every 2 to 3 minutes. Sweet potatoes may begin to stick to the skillet, but continue to stir gently until they cook through.

Serve while hot !!

Greetings fellow Earth Stars. As you pause for a minute on your journey just remember… This too shall pass. Everything that we go through is for a reason. To make us stronger. Everything is a lesson in the game of life. To get to the next level of consciousness you have to learn,then master the lesson. What some people forget is that we all have the strength and power to overcome all the lessons and reach the higher heights. Don’t get stuck in the cycle of “I cant, Its too hard, and why me”. Get caught in the cycle of ” I am capable, I see my way through this turbulence, thank you for the lesson”. You are more than able to excel in the face of ANY adversity that comes your way. It is in your DNA. Your words, energy and heart are your propellant. Proceed on with courage, wisdom and faith in your strength. This too shall pass.

 

Smoothie 101

I have been infatuated with smoothies ever since I received my Ninja Blender for Xmas!! It is phenomenal !! A smoothie is any fruit and or vegetable combo blended with ice (or not) that pleases your palette. My family loves pineapple, so that is a staple in my house as well as kiwi, strawberries, mangos and papaya. You can add your greens from here. We usually add parsley,cilantro,spinach, mint or kale. All have great health benefits and add greens to your diet. Here is an easy recipe to start you off on your Smoothie journey !!

1 pineapple

4 strawberries

1 kiwi

3 slices of ginger

5 sprigs of mint

Blend and enjoy !!
