I LOVE CHAI TEA !! Now you know my secret!! I have had this addiction for many years, but luckily for me its full of wonderful things like cinnamon and spices. I love to add a hazelnut non dairy creamer to my tea because it’s so much like coffee without the coffee taste. Try this easy recipe so you’ll always have Chai tea on hand.
Original recipe makes 4 servings
4 black tea bags
1/4 cup honey or Agave nectar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cinnamon stick
5 whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 pinch ground nutmeg
2 cups milk (Almond, or coconut will also work)
- In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add tea, honey and vanilla. Season with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger and nutmeg. Simmer for 5 minutes. Pour in milk, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, and strain through a fine sieve.
