My family and I have always been lactose intolerant, so when i ran across almond milk, I was very excited. I use it for baking, the kids cereal and anything else that I would use cows milk for. I came across a recipe for making almond milk and I jumped at the chance to try it. It is very simple and easy to make.
Place 1 cup of almonds in a jar or container large enough to comfortably hold the almonds and 4 cups of water
Add 4 cups of water to the container and let soak in the refrigerator overnight
Put the water and almond mixture in a blender. Blend until smooth
Strain the blended almonds through the cheesecloth
Put in container and the milk will last 3-5 days in the refrigerator
